HandEra (formerly TRG), one of the original innovators of "power-user" Palm OS handhelds and memory expansion options, has announced that it will no longer produce Palm OS devices as of May 31st of this year. According to their press release, this decision centers on the high cost of licensing the Palm OS. I suspect that this is only part of the story, as HandEra faces stiff competition from HandSpring, Sony, and other Palm OS licensees in a marketplace rife with innovative handhelds. Still, as a former TRGPro user and very satisfied customer, I'm sorry to see them go.
